“We have a world-class engineering team.”

Desert Mountain Energy (DME) Corp. acquires, explores, and develops mineral properties. DME, a publicly-traded resource company, is engaged in the development and production of helium, hydrogen, and noble gas properties in the United States Southwest. The company holds properties under lease for these gases in the Holbrook Basin of Northern Arizona. DME’s Holbrook Basin Helium Project comprises approximately 85,000 acres of helium prospects located in Holbrook Basin in East-Central Arizona.

DME was incorporated in 2008 and is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The Silicon Review contacted Desert Mountain Energy headquarters and spoke with Robert Rohlfing, who serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Here’s what he said.

Interview Highlights

Q. What can you tell us about the Holbrook Basin Helium project? And what are the other noble gas projects that DME is currently handling?

DME is committed to the Holbrook Basin Helium Project. We have drilled seven helium wells discovering two helium fields that also contain hydrogen (with no sulfur) in the system.

The Holbrook project has advanced from a grassroots exploration program to completing four successful wild cat wells and three offset wells. In addition, the company plans to carry out production in five wells in Q3. The completion of the finishing facility in Q3 will make the company a vertically integrated primary producer of zero-carbon helium. Finishing our own helium will allow us to sell 99.995% pure helium gas at prices in excess of $2500/MCF. The US government will be our first client; we have received a supply number and same-day payment number.

Along with helium, we handle neon, argon, krypton, xenon, and radon.

Q. How skilled is the DME team of experts? And how do they bring value to the company?

We have a world-class engineering team that has worked for companies like Conoco Philips, Sproule, and Marathon in the past. They are the team that brings value through drilling success and designing the helium finishing facility.

Q. What strategies are in place to encourage innovation in your company?

We are leading the Arizona helium development with our solar-powered finishing facility and advanced drilling technics that protect the valued aquifers in the Arizona Desert.

Q. What new endeavors is DME currently undertaking?

The critical shortage of helium has us pursuing the goal of satisfying some of the US’s domestic supply. And currently, all of our focus is on getting the company into production and positive cash flow by the end of Q3.

Q. What is your final message to The Silicon Review readers; your current and future clients and partners?

We plan to have 60 to 70 helium wells in production over the next five years, selling helium directly to Arizona end users.
