iOS 12 and macOS Mojave is offering the best of security and privacy features
The Silicon Review
12 September, 2018

As announced earlier this year by Apple, iOS 12 and macOS Mojave is concentrating on its most important theme: security and privacy.

macOS Mojave, the sixth iteration of Mac OS is supporting features like dark mode, group FaceTime calls, file stacks etc.  Safari, an official web browser for Apple devices will now deploy a new “intelligent tracking prevention” feature. It is going to ward off browser fingerprinting and cross-site tracking. It basically means to prevent users from advertisers following them from site to site. It will protect the user’s privacy by not allowing the ad firms to build a unique fingerprint. Another awesome privacy feature Apple is going to launch with its latest iteration is permission settings for cameras, microphones, backups etc. Before an app tries to access the FaceTime camera and microphones, Mojave will ask for user’s permission. Now it becomes difficult for applications to access location data, camera etc. without the user's notice. It will safeguard the phones or PCs from malware or data stealing.

iOS 12 is also going to have many security features, along with significant performance boosts like new maps, updated AIKit, and smarter notifications. A password manager will warn of password reuse which means that if we are using the same password for different websites or applications, it will notify about it. Other security features are auto-filled two-factor code i.e. automatically entering the code into the login box, USB restricted mode which means locking any accessories like USB cables and headphones if the iPhone or iPad has been locked for more than an hour. Such features will prevent any hacking attempts in future!
