Nvidia has launched a new AI computer at the GPU tech conference (GTC) on Monday. The computer is known as Jetson Nano.

Priced at $99, the new AI computer is the latest series of line-up under the Jetson embedded computing boards. Jetson specializes in creating AI-powered devices and robots. The AI computer can perform and conduct tasks like object recognition and autonomous navigation without Cloud Processing Power.

The Nano developer kit is meant for DIY creators, researchers, and embedded engineers. The kit has two models: $99 model and $129 model for commercial companies. The minimum buyout for the production models (commercial models) is 1000 modules.

The processor chipped in the $99 model is quad-core ARM A57 processor. And the GPU is a 128-core Nvidia Maxwell GPU. The kit has an LPDDR RAM OF 4GB and is equipped with 472 gigaflops; for a power efficient computing.

Jetson Nano’ s algorithms will be pretty much plug and play since it supports a range of popular frameworks like MXNet, Keras, PyTorch, and Caffe. The kit has interfaces and ports, micro-SD storage, gigabit Ethernet and USB-A and B.

Apart from the Jetson Nano, the company has also announced Jetbot. It’s an open source autonomous robotics kit for advanced makers. The kit will cost $ 250.The kit comes with a Jetson Nano and other things like batteries, motors, and robot chassis; enabling easy development of self-driving robots for users.
