LinkedIn to Introduce a New Li...Social media platform, LinkedIn, is introducing a live video streaming service. The new platform is supported by Microsoft. The service will roll out initially as an invite-only beta this week for the users in America.
The new live streaming platform will allow users to watch videos based on things like events, Q&A, product announcements, earning calls, award ceremonies and many more. With the help of the tech giant’s encoding technology and Azure Media services, LinkedIn will be able to run the new services seamlessly.
The social media platform is also joining hands with few companies to provide content creators to experienced broadcasting streaming services. The partner companies include Brandlive, Wirecast, Wowza Media Systems, Socialive, and Switcher Studio.
According to Tech Crunch, currently, the fastest growing format on LinkedIn is video. The most requested platform from the people is live. The company hasn’t realized any official date for releasing the new services to all the users yet but it will signups will be accepted through the contactform on the platform.
With the introduction of the new feature, LinkedIn will be facing tough competition from other platforms like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Twitch and others that provide live video streaming. The company believes that it can categorize the new services among different audiences and the type of video it will offer.
LinkedIn has been clearly focusing well to connect one’s professional work life to others. The new services are clearly aimed to create a niche in the streaming video market.
