GameFly will Stop Streaming Services from this Month: Are the Users Disappointed?
The Silicon Review
04 August, 2018

The game rental company will be shutting down from this month. The streaming service started initially in 2015 but had to meet its end in 2018 this month. The console less streaming service was something gamers loved. Although there were ups and downs, it remained something very new and innovative says all gamers.

The company offered a package deal for $7 and $10 per month depending on what type of service the gamer wants. It also gave the entire user base an unlimited access to titles. It was considered as a brother to Netflix but instead of streaming shows and videos, GameFly’s original snail-mail rentals focused on gaming.

The reason is very open; EA had its hands on all the technology and team members. Although the acquisition of GameFly was a good move, EA dint add GameFly’s streaming service in its buy-list. We still don’t know the reason for that; maybe the company had its own intentions.

“We acquired the team in Israel and the technology they’ve developed, we did not acquire the Gamefly streaming service. We have not been involved in any decisions around the service,” these were some of the points put forth by a spokesperson from EA. It is important to realize that the world streaming games are perfectly fine. PlayStation is constantly adding up more titles to its service. Let us see how the gaming industry moves ahead in the market.
