Snapchat’s Chronological Order for Stories Are Back

Snapchat’s Chronological Order for Stories Are Back
The Silicon Review
09 April, 2018

A few months ago, the world-famous multimedia messaging app, Snapchat has made headlines after announcing that its Stories will be shown in an algorithmic order, rather than chronological order. The idea was to offer Snapchat users more personalized content.

Switching from chronological to algorithmic stories order has helped Instagram and Twitter boost growth and that is why Snapchat also made it a part of its redesign witnessing handsome growth in its daily active user.

Unfortunately, it was not particularly well received by its users. Now, it appears that Snapchat is more concerned about its users’ grievances, so it is rolling back the feature of chronological Snapchat Stories once again.

“We are separating the social from the media, and taking an important step forward towards strengthening our relationships with our friends and our relationships with the media.” Evan Spiegel said when Snapchat first offered up its new look.

According to reports, many users of the California-based social media app has already started seeing the reverse chronological ordering of Stories in both the version of the app where there are separate Stories and Chat tabs.

As Snapchat has ditched the algorithmic order of stories, it might get tough for newer and less consistent Snapchat users who want check the most relevant content instead of having to sort through distant acquaintances. But, for all the hardcore Snapchat users who check stories constantly, this new update has brought back joy and gratitude, as they were likely to see their closest friends’ posts.
