Snap’s Lens Studio Is Getting Updated with New Features

The American technology and social media firm, Snap Inc. have introduced new features for Lens Studio including seven brand new templates for the creation of face lenses. Before this introduction, the developers were only able to create 3D AR objects, but now they can overlay AR over faces.

Lens studio was launched by Snap in December 2017 and the aim was to help AR reality artist to introduce “world lenses” or AR objects, which could capture better pictures by the user's Smartphones.

The seven brand new templates include:

• Face paint (preferred for makeup or accessories)
• Photo (creates head-on pics)
• Distort (users can stretch or shrink facial attributes)
• Trigger (create a trigger to execute a lens)
• 2D objects
• 3D objects
• Baseball cap (to furnish a 3D baseball cap).

Alongside the fresh templates, Snap has also integrated with Giphy to provide Lens studio users enormous library of Giphy animated GIF stickers.

The company said that within two months artists had submitted 30,000 of these lenses. Now it has added fresh features to build a community that would be filled with AR developers and attracts current users. And also, the introduction will allow Snap to open up third-party lenses to the public with the launch of Community Lens Stories.
