This could be the greatest act of espionage ever uncovered
The Silicon Review
05 October, 2018

In what could be the greatest act of espionage ever uncovered, it was alleged that Chinese spies have managed to infiltrate and compromise the supply chain of the Taiwanese-American technology manufacturer Supermicro. It is unclear as of now whether this explosive piece of news is true or not, but if it proves to be true, it could completely shake the technology industry in the United States right down to its core. Supermicro specializes in making and providing solutions for servers, data center operations, rack, storage, and networking and server management and so on. What’s more is that most of the largest technology behemoths in the United States use Supermico’s products.

The alleged infiltration is reported to have been carried out to install tiny chips on the motherboards manufactured by Supermicro. These motherboards are used in data centers of many of the largest technology corporations and if compromised, would jeopardize all the information stored in them, giving hackers a doorway to all secrets. The extent of damage that would be wrought if this were true is truly frightening and could completely change the way the average person looks at his or her data security.

In the midst of all the raging debate and debacle concerning cybersecurity and the common man’s privacy caused by the recent data breaches and the Cambridge Analytica scandal, groundbreaking news such as this, if true, can permanently change the face of the tech industry.
