WhatsApp, an epitome of true technology

WhatsApp, an epitome of true technology
The Silicon Review

Whatsapp yet with another interesting invention will crack your nerves… perplexed? Hang on with us for few minutes; we give you the minute details of the developments.

The Facebook-owned messaging service is reportedly testing the ability to edit or recall messages that have already been sent. This means you can delete or revise a message even after your friend's phone has technically received it.

This update has been made available only to a few iOS users, through their beta version. On selecting a specific message, you can see options of revoking, editing, copying and deleting the message. Of course, the caveat for recalling the message is that it should not have been read by the receiver.

Grey tick mark signifies that the recipient hasn’t received any message and the blue tick shown says the message is received. This feature works only if it is the former and not the latter.

The feature is currently being tested in the beta versions of WhatsApp on Android and iOS. The update adds “revoke” and "edit" options for messages that have not yet been viewed. From the screenshots, it seems like the message is replaced with "Sender revoked the message" — so your friends will know you're keeping something from them.

Whatsapp will enhance the status feature and users can add captions which will disappear after 24 hours unlike Snapchat users can track others location.
